Muki Munah

Drawing on rich musical roots, personal instinct and a healthy dose of soul, new rap / hip-hop artist Muki Munah brings a style all his own- and fans of his new single ‘123’ all across the world are loving it.

A resident of Tampa, Florida, Muki Munah has been balancing life responsibilities with his creative drive for years, but has recently found his musical interests evolving and expanding. This evolution, it turns out, has been the conduit for an exhilarating journey to the threshold of worldwide recognition. Critics of Muki Munah's award-winning work recently had this to say about the rising star: ‘Muki Munah is a huge talent, barely contained from bursting at the seams in '123', a track driven by its tight reggaeton beat and blazing rhymes wrapped up in a pristinely produced number.’ Added to these honors, his debut radio single ‘123’ is rapidly ascending the international charts. Reporter Andrew Edwards recently caught up with Muki Munah to learn more about this intriguing rap / hip-hop artist, his unique musical vision and plans for the future.

ANDREW: When did you first get that feeling that your music career was gaining momentum?
MUKI MUNAH: When people that I don't even know started sending me emails and telling me how they love my work.

ANDREW: Your song ’123’ is receiving a positive listener response on radio. What was your initial reaction when you first heard your song playing on radio?
MUKI MUNAH: I have been doing this for some time now, and when I was writting the song 1.2.3. I knew it was going to be a good song.

ANDREW: What was the inspiration behind your debut radio single?
MUKI MUNAH: A lot of fans were loving it.

ANDREW: It is often said that great art arises from difficult experience. Is there something in your life experience thus far that you would describe as the ‘catalyst’ or ‘fuel’ for your desire to create music?
MUKI MUNAH: While in the USA, I realized that here was every thing that I needed to do what I was unable to do all along because of resources. Music is all I want to do.

ANDREW: How would you characterize yourself as an artist/musician? (Ex. Down-to-earth, serious, fun-loving, complicated…)
MUKI MUNAH: I am a fun loving person and I show love to every one.

ANDREW: What has your experience been like working with the other people on your team?
MUKI MUNAH: I know my team is the best. They are trusted, reliable, supportive and talented.

ANDREW: Did you come from a musical background? Are there other musicians in your family?
MUKI MUNAH: Most of my familly have been in serious music contests organized by churches. I am the one who is taking it to the next level.

ANDREW: What do you find most rewarding about being an artist? What do you find most challenging?
MUKI MUNAH: When I read the emails from fans I feel very rewarded. To support my family and to be inspired to create music are all challenging both financially and mentally.

ANDREW: Who are your role models in music?
MUKI MUNAH: Damain Marley. Sain Pau. Shaggy.

ANDREW: Describe your best or most memorable performance.
MUKI MUNAH: When I performed at a reggae festival in Tampa.

ANDREW: What advice would you give to young, aspiring artists out there who are unsure and need guidance?
MUKI MUNAH: Enjoy life freely but have respect for other people and their property. Don't dramatize situations. Stick to your plan. Open yourself up for bigger inspiration. Take nothing for granted. Always show appreciation.

ANDREW: What's next for you as an artist? Is there a new single in the works? If so, what can you tell us about it?
MUKI MUNAH: I am always working. Right now I am in the studio working on a song I call IN THE ZONE. It is basically about how different people have an interest in different things and fail to understand that being in love is an agreement. I am loving it and I hope you like it too.

ANDREW: Wow, that all sounds very exciting! Thank you so much for letting us get to know you a little better. I look forward to hearing and seeing more great things from you in the future.
