Golden Boy (Fospassin)

Golden Boy (Fospassin) has mastered of one of the most evocative and compellings styles of
pop / jazz music we've encountered, and his new single ‘Blues Jazz Love’ shows why you'll be hearing a lot more of him.

With inventive vocal stylings and strong melodic instincts, Golden Boy (Fospassin) is an artist that any pop / jazz music enthusiast will thoroughly enjoy. The success of his latest awarding-winning work has quickly garnered him significant exposure, with one critic writing: ‘Blues Jazz Love will take you on a breath-taking spin through diverse styles and sounds, swirling in electric guitar solos, soaring strings and freestyle drums.’ Yet there’s something special about Golden Boy (Fospassin) that sets him apart from other pop / jazz acts. In a musical generation characterized by cookie-cutter pop acts, Golden Boy (Fospassin)'s originaltiy and lawless musicianship do more than stand out. They reveal qualities that cannot be engineered in the studio. There’s also an unpretentious honesty to this artist out of Marietta, Georgia and judging by his growing fan base, he may be precisely what the new generation has been seeking. Independent reporter Brandon Scott recently caught up with Golden Boy (Fospassin) to get an inside look at this talented new artist and to learn what he has in store for fans this year.

BRANDON: Let's just get this out in the open- What is the craziest thing that has happened to you in your music career?
GOLDEN BOY (FOSPASSIN): The craziest thing that has happened in my music career is when I met Foly Dirane host of the TV show "Délire" in Cameroon. He taught me discipline, hard work and how to be patient.

BRANDON: Your song’Blues Jazz Love’is receiving a positive listener response on radio. What was your initial reaction when you first heard your song playing on radio?
GOLDEN BOY (FOSPASSIN): Hahaha! When i first heard my song playing on the radio, I called all my friends and family in less than a minute to listen to the new worldwide artist Golden Boy (Fospassin) running the show. I recorded it and i was playing it on repeat...

BRANDON: What was the inspiration behind your debut radio single?
GOLDEN BOY (FOSPASSIN): Why are we fighting everyday? Why are we killing each other? Why are we hating each other? Those are the 3 questions related to the song "Universal Jazz". Jazz music can bring love, peace and joy among people back.

BRANDON: It is often said that great art arises from difficult experience. Is there something in your life experience thus far that you would describe as the ‘catalyst’ or ‘fuel’ for your desire to create music?
GOLDEN BOY (FOSPASSIN): Michael Jackson was the man who changed my vision of things. Every time i was watching his videos,i was always trying to do like him.He was a complete artist.Great dancer and a perfect singer. I think i am the best artist in the World right now with over 700 songs recorded and released under Golden Boy (Fospassin). "I am the next Michael Jackson".

BRANDON: How would you characterize yourself as an artist/musician? (Ex. Down-to-earth, serious, fun-loving, complicated…)
GOLDEN BOY (FOSPASSIN): People think that I am very funny, nice, romantic, hard worker and very generous artist. I am always nice to people but i sometimes turn to become a lion when you try to abuse my Rights. I always speak my mind.

BRANDON: What has your experience been like working with the other people on your team?
GOLDEN BOY (FOSPASSIN): I had a great experience working with one of the best guitar bass players in the World Soul Mangouma Bass who died in France when i was planning to release my first Album and i had the pleasure working with Roger Bekongo, Bertrand Eba ,Engo, Papa Wet, Djam Moses, Djeba Ramuel, Mirko and many others...

BRANDON: Did you come from a musical background? Are there other musicians in your family?
GOLDEN BOY (FOSPASSIN): Everybody in my family is an artist but they just do it for fun. Hahaha,my mom tries to challenge with me everyday but she always wins because she is my mother. When mom is happy, the world is happy.

BRANDON: What do you find most rewarding about being an artist? What do you find most challenging?
GOLDEN BOY (FOSPASSIN): When you are an artist, you have more fans and more haters. Everything you do goes viral...no more privacy...The most challenging part is when I see those major labels taking over everything with their artists who have no talent. Thanks God, Internet is changing the world. Where are those artists of one hit song today? Today music is for real and prolific artists.

BRANDON: Who are your role models in music?
GOLDEN BOY (FOSPASSIN): My models in music are Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, Nkodo Si Tony from Cameroon.

BRANDON: Describe your best or most memorable performance.
GOLDEN BOY (FOSPASSIN): My best memorable performance are: -When I performed in Central African Republic in 1998 as a little child in front of over 50.000 people at Centre National Basketball Martin Ngoko in Bangui presented by the great Alexis Ballu. It was aired on TV and radio. -When I performed for the first time at "Délire" in Cameroon as "Sosie de Nkodo Si Tony" in Cameroon presented by foly Dirane. I was also dancer of the popular Makossa artist Jean Pierre Essomé from Cameroon in "Tchakala". I would like to say thanks to all my fans all over the world and thanks to my co-workers and managers at Publix. Thanks to the Ed Tyll Show where i am a resident artist.

BRANDON: What advice would you give to young, aspiring artists out there who are unsure and need guidance?
GOLDEN BOY (FOSPASSIN): The first thing is to have goals in life. They should be optimist, hard workers, humble and patient if they want to succeed in music. They should always listen to others. Internet for all.
