Hailing from Clarkston, Georgia, Ceo Carter has been balancing life responsibilities with his creative drive for years, but has recently found his musical interests evolving and expanding. This evolution, it turns out, has been the conduit for an exhilarating journey to the threshold of worldwide recognition. Ceo Carter's award-winning work recently had this to say about the rising star: ‘Carter has many problems in common with his competition in the genre - but 'Confessions' transcends the usual fare by its wit, sincerity and lyrical flow.’ Added to these honors, his debut radio single ‘Confessions’ is rapidly ascending the international charts. Reporter Andrew Edwards recently caught up with Ceo Carter to learn more about this intriguing rap / hip-hop artist, his unique musical vision and plans for the future.

ANDREW: As an artist on the rise, what is one thing you are most excited about and one thing you are most afraid of happening in your career?
CEO CARTER: The one thing I'm excited about is being able to travel the world doing what I love sharing my experiences in my music . One things I'm afraid of would be losing touch with myself

ANDREW: Your song ’Confessions’ is receiving a positive listener response on radio. What was your initial reaction when you first heard your song playing on radio?
CEO CARTER: It was an adrenaline rush. I was excited and ready to push out more music but I had to contain the urge and stick to the gameplan.

ANDREW: What was the inspiration behind your debut radio single?
CEO CARTER: When I wrote "Confessions" I wanted to give a deeper look into where & what I've been through growing up.

ANDREW: It is often said that great art arises from difficult experience. Is there something in your life experience thus far that you would describe as the ‘catalyst’ or ‘fuel’ for your desire to create music?
CEO CARTER: My fuel to create comes from all the different situations I've been through individually and situations my family has been through.

ANDREW: How would you characterize yourself as an artist/musician? (Ex. Down-to-earth, serious, fun-loving, complicated…)
CEO CARTER: I would say I'm down to earth & laid back but still fun & loving.

ANDREW: What has your experience been like working with the other people on your team?
CEO CARTER: Everybody on my team is family so like any family we might bump heads but I know I can count on them to tell me if I need to turn it up.

ANDREW: Did you come from a musical background? Are there other musicians in your family?
CEO CARTER: My mother used to sing in a choir.

ANDREW: What do you find most rewarding about being an artist? What do you find most challenging?
CEO CARTER: Getting positive feedback from different people around the world. The most challenging would be having to do everything as a independent artist.

ANDREW: Who are your role models in music?
CEO CARTER: Kanye West would be one of my role models just for the way he always finds a way to create different vibes/waves. Nothing is ever the same or like what you hear day to day.

ANDREW: Describe your best or most memorable performance.
CEO CARTER: My most memorable performance would have to be when I performed for Michael Jackson's family and friends in front of his birth home.

ANDREW: What advice would you give to young, aspiring artists out there who are unsure and need guidance?
CEO CARTER: Keep going. Don't let anything or anybody stop you from chasing your dreams, & practice and study your craft.

ANDREW: What's next for you as an artist? Is there a new single in the works? If so, what can you tell us about it?
CEO CARTER: Next up for me is touring and releasing music & videos with a lot of energy. Yes there is a new single in works it's gonna be epic look out for it.

ANDREW: That is quite exciting, congratulations! Thank you for taking the time to let me get to know you a little better. Good luck with your new releases and tours.
